I just love all the color we get to see in the fall, so I was happy the S family wanted to get some family shots outside. I also love going downtown, too, so we had a nice variety! How adorable are they?!

Unseasonably warm and amazing fall colors make it the perfect time for family photos! I was happy to catch my own family this week, along with a few others!

These three all have such fun personalities, the challenge is getting them all in the same shot at once!

The next two have an older brother in college, so mom had decided no group shots so no one is left out. We still got some really great individuals.

And then, these four are my own kiddos. I usually take a couple of formal shots, but its always the candids that I love the best.

I had a really great time shooting these family photos at a local coffee shop. Everyone looked wonderful, and the atmosphere was relaxed and perfect for some candid shots! I also got to treat myself to a yummy mocha breve….mmmm! It was difficult to pick only a few to show you!

Photo Restoration

I have not really offered this as a service before, but given the chance to try restoration out, I really found it fun! This particular photo was given to me in several pieces. I scanned in the pieces and fit them together like a puzzle.

I thought it was a neat bit of work. If you have a photo you would like restored, please call or e-mail me. My fee is $15/hour, with one hour being minimum. You will receive the original back, one print, and a digital copy for you to print again. I’m up for a challenge!!

Kids don’t want to sit for photos. Half the time adults don’t want to sit for photos either. I find its much easier to let them play and tag along. It may take a little time to catch the perfect shot, but it usually brings out their true personalities!

Just in Time

I’m calling this week “Just in Time”. We took some maternity pictures just 3 weeks before this baby is due. I’d call that just in time! I also shot one more senior session Sunday afternoon in Fargo. Our session ended just as the snow was starting to fly.

And although I had a love of black and white this weekend, I assure you there was plenty of color to be found!

It seems like my weekends tend to be more busy than my weeks. Of course it takes me all week to proof everything I shoot over the weekends. And with all this rain, I have been luck to find a few minutes of dry time (never mind the mud!) Take this weekend for example:

First a senior. I love all the fun pictures we got to do! Then a family. I had a lot of fun with these girls – aren’t they cute?!

(And then again I’m practically knocked over when someone is!) So when A was here this morning it was no surprise that he needed some time to warm up!

I have found over the years that when you have a large group to just keep shooting. In the age of digital photography, you won't break the bank doing it. Just keep shooting. That rings especially true for kids, even in smaller numbers. Because what starts out looking like this....

Our family is welcoming Jackson Creed Fraase! He was born September 12th. I will be limiting my studio time for the next month. I will be back to full speed in November. After the K-5 Spring Concert enjoy a Free Will Offering Ice Cream Social at the school. I will be set up outside the gym to take portraits for just $5 for a 5x7.
